Terms of service
Last Updated: March 2026
These Terms & Conditions outline the policies that apply when engaging Solano Jewelers for services, including custom jewelry design, repairs, appraisals, restringing, and any other service listed on this website. By engaging our services or using our website, you agree to the terms set out below.
Custom Jewelry Design
Custom design projects require a deposit before work begins. The deposit amount will vary depending on the scope of the project.
All deposits are non-refundable, including in cases where a client chooses not to proceed after the design process has begun.
Custom pieces are created specifically for each client. Once work has started, materials and labor are allocated to the project and cannot be reversed.
Repairs and Jewelry Services
Solano Jewelers offers a range of services including jewelry repair, restoration, and restringing. Clients will be informed of the recommended work and associated costs before service begins.
Unclaimed Items
Completed repairs must be collected within 90 days of notification that the work is ready. Solano Jewelers will make reasonable efforts to contact you using the information provided at drop-off. No storage fees are charged during this period.
After 90 days, items not collected will be considered abandoned. Solano Jewelers reserves the right to sell or otherwise dispose of unclaimed items in order to recover the cost of services rendered, in accordance with applicable California law.
Service Risk
Some jewelry pieces may have pre-existing wear, fragile settings, aged components, or structural weaknesses that present inherent risks during any handling or service process. By leaving a piece with Solano Jewelers for repair, restringing, or any other service, clients acknowledge and accept that certain risks are inherent to the nature of aged or fragile jewelry, and that Solano Jewelers cannot be held responsible for damage arising from pre-existing conditions.
Appraisals
Solano Jewelers provides professional jewelry appraisal services conducted in-house. Appraisals are provided as formal written reports suitable for insurance, estate planning, or resale purposes.
Appraisal fees are due upon completion of the service.
Fees are non-refundable once the appraisal has been completed. If you need to cancel an appraisal appointment, please contact us in advance. No fee will be charged if the appraisal has not yet been conducted.
Appraisal values reflect current market conditions at the time the appraisal is conducted and may change over time. Solano Jewelers is not liable for any loss arising from changes in value after the date of the appraisal.
Appointments and Visits
Appointments are not required. Clients are welcome to visit our Lafayette showroom during business hours: Monday through Saturday, 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Contacting us in advance is recommended for custom design discussions and appraisals so we can set aside dedicated time for you.
Gift Cards
Solano Jewelers' gift cards:

Additional gift card policies may apply depending on how the card was issued or purchased.

All custom designs created by Solano Jewelers remain the intellectual property of Solano Jewelers unless otherwise agreed in writing. Limitation of Liability
Solano Jewelers takes care in handling all jewelry entrusted to us. Due to the nature of previously worn or delicate items, certain services may carry inherent risks which clients acknowledge and accept by proceeding with service.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable California law, Solano Jewelers' liability in connection with any service is limited to the value of the service fee paid for that specific service. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
